These immense, transient displays of light occur at both Jovian poles and had previously been observed only by ground-based and Earth-orbiting observatories, notably NASA\u2019s Hubble Space Telescope. Before Juno, observations of Jovian ultraviolet aurora had offered only side views, hiding everything happening on the nightside of the planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color\">1994\u5e74\u306b\u30cf\u30c3\u30d6\u30eb\u306e\u5fae\u5149\u30ab\u30e1\u30e9\u306b\u3088\u3063\u3066\u6700\u521d\u306b\u767a\u898b\u3055\u308c\u305f\u591c\u660e\u3051\u306e\u5d50\u306f\u3001\u77ed\u547d\u3067\u3042\u308b\u304c\u5f37\u70c8\u306a\u660e\u308b\u3055\u3068\u5e83\u304c\u308a\u3067\u69cb\u6210\u3055\u308c\u3066\u3044\u3066\u3001\u6728\u661f\u306e\u4e3b\u306a\u30aa\u30fc\u30ed\u30e9\uff08\u4e21\u6975\u3092\u56f2\u3080\u9577\u65b9\u5f62\u306e\u5149\u306e\u30ab\u30fc\u30c6\u30f3\u306e\u3088\u3046\u306a\uff09\u306f\u3001\u591c\u660e\u3051\u306e\u307e\u3060\u6697\u3044\u3068\u3053\u308d\u304b\u3089\u51fa\u3066\u304f\u308b\u5927\u6c17\u8fd1\u8fba\u306b\u5b58\u5728\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002\u30b8\u30e5\u30ce\u30fc\u3067\u89b3\u6e2c\u3059\u308b\u524d\u306f\u3001\u6728\u661f\u306e\u7d2b\u5916\u7dda\u30aa\u30fc\u30ed\u30e9\u89b3\u6e2c\u306f\u3001\u6728\u661f\u306e\u591c\u5074\u3067\u8d77\u3053\u3063\u3066\u3044\u308b\u73fe\u8c61\u306f\u5168\u3066\u898b\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u305a\u3001\u5074\u9762\u3057\u304b\u89b3\u6e2c\u3059\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u3066\u3044\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cObserving Jupiter\u2019s aurora from Earth does not allow you to see beyond the limb, into the nightside of Jupiter\u2019s poles. Explorations by other spacecraft \u2013 Voyager, Galileo, Cassini \u2013 happened from relatively large distances and did not fly over the poles, so they could not see the complete picture,\u201d said Bertrand Bonfond, a researcher from the University of Li\u00e8ge in Belgium and lead author of the study. \u201cThat\u2019s why the Juno data is a real game changer, allowing us a better understanding what is happening on the nightside, where the dawn storms are born.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color\">\u300c\u5730\u7403\u304b\u3089\u6728\u661f\u306e\u30aa\u30fc\u30ed\u30e9\u3092\u89b3\u6e2c\u3057\u3066\u3082\u3001\u6728\u661f\u306e\u6975\u306e\u591c\u306b\u306a\u3063\u3066\u3044\u308b\u6697\u3044\u90e8\u5206\u306e\u5185\u5074\u3092\u898b\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3002\u30b8\u30e5\u30ce\u30fc\u4ee5\u5916\u306e\u4ed6\u306e\u63a2\u67fb\u6a5f\uff08\u30dc\u30a4\u30b8\u30e3\u30fc\u3001\u30ac\u30ea\u30ec\u30aa\u3001\u30ab\u30c3\u30b7\u30fc\u30cb\uff09\u306f\u3001\u6bd4\u8f03\u7684\u6728\u661f\u306e\u6975\u306e\u9060\u65b9\u304b\u3089\u89b3\u6e2c\u3057\u305f\u3060\u3051\u3067\u3042\u308a\u3001\u6975\u306e\u4e0a\u3092\u98db\u884c\u3057\u306a\u304b\u3063\u305f\u305f\u3081\u3001\u5168\u4f53\u50cf\u3092\u898b\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3067\u3057\u305f\u300d\u3068\u3001\u30d9\u30eb\u30ae\u30fc\u306e\u30ea\u30a8\u30fc\u30b8\u30e5\u5927\u5b66\u306e\u7814\u7a76\u8005\u3067\u7b46\u982d\u8457\u8005\u306e\u30d0\u30fc\u30c8\u30e9\u30f3\u30c9\u30dc\u30f3\u30d5\u30a9\u30f3\u30c9\u306f\u8ff0\u3079\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002 \u300c\u3060\u304b\u3089\u3053\u305d\u3001\u30b8\u30e5\u30ce\u30fc\u306e\u89b3\u6e2c\u30c7\u30fc\u30bf\u306f\u307e\u3055\u306b\u30b2\u30fc\u30e0\u30c1\u30a7\u30f3\u30b8\u30e3\u30fc\u3067\u3042\u308a\u3001\u591c\u660e\u3051\u306e\u5d50\u304c\u767a\u751f\u3059\u308b\u591c\u5074\u3067\u4f55\u304c\u8d77\u3053\u3063\u3066\u3044\u308b\u306e\u304b\u3092\u3088\u308a\u3088\u304f\u7406\u89e3\u3059\u308b\u3053\u3068\u304c\u3067\u304d\u307e\u3059\u3002\u300d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Researchers found dawn storms are born on the nightside of the gas giant. As the planet rotates, the soon-to-be dawn storm rotates with it into the dayside, where these complex and intensely bright auroral features grow even more luminous, emitting anywhere from hundreds to thousands of gigawatts of ultraviolet light into space. The similarity between terrestrial and Jovian substorms is surprising because the magnetospheres of Jupiter and Earth are radically different. On Earth, the magnetosphere is essentially controlled by the interaction of the solar wind \u2013 the stream of charged particles flowing from the Sun \u2013 with Earth\u2019s magnetic field.
